Find a genuine piece of media in your target language intended for native speakers (not learners) — a short news segment, a podcast excerpt, or a video — and listen without subtitles, noting down the general gist and any specific words or phrases you catch. This is more challenging than learner-focused listening material because native media isn't slowed down or simplified, but it's genuinely useful practice for the kind of real-world listening you'll eventually need — and it's fine, expected even, to not catch everything.

Example

Watching a two-minute native-speaker news segment in your target language, you might only clearly catch the topic and a couple of key phrases the first time through — watching it a second time, now that you know roughly what it's about, often reveals noticeably more, since understanding the general context makes specific words easier to pick out.
