This one is a create-and-perform activity, not a quiz — so there are no questions to answer on screen. Compose a short original piece of music (20-40 seconds) using an instrument, your voice, a music app, or everyday objects as percussion. Deliberately manipulate at least two elements of music as you compose — for example, layering a steady rhythm with a simple melody, or building dynamics from quiet to loud to create a sense of building tension. Practise your piece until you're comfortable performing it, then perform it for a family member. Afterwards, explain which musical elements you deliberately used and what effect you were going for. Mark this complete once you've performed your piece and explained your choices.
Example
A student composing a piece meant to feel like 'a storm arriving' might start with a quiet, sparse rhythm (calm before the storm), gradually add layers and increase the dynamics (building intensity), then suddenly drop to silence (the eye of the storm) — deliberately manipulating rhythm, dynamics and silence together to communicate a clear musical idea.
