Integers

Integers are whole numbers that can be positive, negative, or zero — think temperatures, bank balances, or sea level. Adding a negative number has the same effect as subtracting; subtracting a negative has the same effect as adding, since the two negative signs cancel out. Multiplying or dividing two negatives gives a positive; a positive and a negative gives a negative.
