This one is a self-directed speaking and listening activity, not a quiz — so there are no questions to answer on screen. First, have a discussion (5-10 minutes) with a family member about a text, issue or opinion you both have a view on — actively listen and respond to what they say, using interaction skills like building on their point or respectfully disagreeing with a reason. Then, prepare and deliver a short (1-2 minute) spoken presentation on a topic of your choice, thinking deliberately about your voice — volume, tone, pitch and pace — to suit your purpose and audience. Afterwards, reflect: what worked well in the discussion, and what felt strong or weak in your presentation delivery? Mark this complete once you've done both activities and reflected on them.
Example
Presenting on why a particular book should be everyone's next read, a student might deliberately slow their pace and lower their volume for a suspenseful detail, then speed up and raise their energy for the exciting conclusion — using voice deliberately, the way a skilled presenter varies delivery to match content, rather than speaking in a flat monotone throughout.
