Languages · Year 9
Have a longer conversation in your target language — at least 10 minutes — where you and a partner (a family member, tutor, or language exchange partner) each share and respond to opinions on a simple topic, like a favourite food, a movie, or how you spend weekends. Practise phrases for agreeing, disagreeing politely, and asking someone to explain more. Mark this complete once you've had a real back-and-forth conversation sharing and responding to opinions, not just answering questions.
Example
Discussing a favourite season, you might say (in your target language) "I think summer is best because...", have your partner respond with a different opinion, and then practise responding with "I understand, but I still think..." — a genuine exchange of views rather than a one-sided description.
Key terms
This topic is self-directed and doesn't have quiz questions.
